About SeniorDayServices.com Guide for Caregivers of Disabled Elderly

We, an informal group of senior citizens, recognized the growing need for a web site that could serve as a central resource for caregivers and family members - who care for their disabled loved one. Caring for an elderly citizen with disabilities can be demanding; a respite is needed from time to time.

Guide to Senior Day Care Centers

This is why we decided to create our online guide to all Senior Day Care facilities in the United States. We realize that it will take a while for us to grow our listings to the point that all States and most Cities will be covered. If you would like to help, please let us know.

We feature contact information and detailed descriptions of related services, and other important resources, currently available. Below is a summary of those services:

  • Senior Day Care Centers - typically provide elderly afflicted with physical or cognitive disabilities an opportunity to socialize, engage in activities, play games, and receive assistance with personal grooming in a safe, friendly, supervised setting.
  • Adult Day Care Centers - offer similar services for disabled adults.
  • General Day Care Centers - offer similar services for disabled individuals of all ages.
  • Caregiver Support Centers - where caregivers can find additional information, training, and support.
  • Government Agencies - federal, state and local agencies offer information and support for elderly citizens with disabilities.
  • Non-Profit Organizations - provide various kinds of assistance.
  • Other Organizations - offer additional assistance.

Caregiver Support

Caregiver Support Centers are springing up around the country to serve an estimated 20 million or more men and women who are taking care of a disabled loved one in their home.

These Centers provide needed information and training. They also give participants an opportunity to join support groups where they can share their experiences with others in the same situation.

If you know of a facility that is not in our guide, please take a minute to tell us about it - just click on the drop down list in the blue section at the top right of this page and select one of the options.
