The American Red Cross is the premier emergency response organization in the country. In addition to disaster relief, it offers community based services to the needy of all ages.
Services include caregiver education and support, home delivered meals, transportation to medical appointments, transitional housing, heating fuel assistance, and a friendly visitors program. There are local Chapters in most communities.
