What is Senior Day Care?
This refers to the care of an elderly person, typically
a family member, who cannot be left alone during the day.
Why do participants require supervision?
They usually suffer from Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, dementia, or
memory loss. Other causes of their infirmity may include, chronic depression,
lonliness, visual or hearing impairment, physical disability,
an accident, or the frailty of advanced age.
How do Senior Day Care Centers differ from Adult Day Care Centers?
The age of participants allowed into the program is the major difference.
Generally, seniors must be sixty years of age or older. Adult programs
typically accept participants eighteen or older.
How many programs are just for seniors?
We do not know at this time. We estimate there are
a combined total (senior and adult) of about 3,500 centers
nationwide currently.
How can I find one in my area?

listing to view detailed information about that center.
